I've had a running playlist on Youtube of all the amazing footage of live Phish and it was getting to the point where it needed to be reorganized. I thought about bucketing by seasonal tour (winter, spring, summer, fall) but I eventually went with the eras (1.0, 2.0, 3.0). I"d love to further nest these playlists by seasonal tour but beggars can't be choosers.
Here's the 1.0 Playlist (credits to all the peeps who found a way in the 1.0 time periods, a period when the interwebs were not as prevelant nor was the technology to record on videotape).
Some favorites on here that recommend based on video, sound quality and of course the jams!
5/20/87 - About as good as you are going to get for quality in this time period.
12/28/96 - My first show ever so yeah, have to call this out.
4/29/90 - Had this VHS back in the day but like most VHSs, it's no where to be found but thanks to youtube it's back in my life. Great daytime show in Vermont with vintage early 90s outfits galore.
10/21/95 - Lets face it, most of the 95 on here is stellar but this is high quality footage. Just a bummer it's broken up in so many segments for the first set. At least the 2nd set is in one continuous stream. This show is cool as it opens with Tweezer Reprise in first set and closes the first set with Tweezer Reprise. The Bowie in second set, like most 95 Bowies, is a rager.
12/3/97 - This was my 3rd show and definitely my favorite of the 97 shows I was lucky enough to catch. The funk jam in the first set and that set in general was just a blast.
12/29/97 & 12/30/97 - Great official footage for some really, really great shows.
9/14/99 - The Bag > Gumbo here is simply unreal and the audio is on point while video quality is a bit rought but I suppose that is what 16 years will do to old footage like this.
12/31/99 - This is the full new years set and it's pro-footage so it's hard to top this gem.
